No matter what!
Okay but where is my Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Avengers crossover fic where the squad all agrees to adopt Spider-Man?
Because obviously the squad all loves him in different ways. He’s the hero of Brooklyn.
Like, Jake just thinks he’s the absolute coolest Avenger, no doubt. Not only is he freaking hilarious, but he’s based in Brooklyn and maybe Jake starts to keep an eye out more when he’s doing patrol and listening to the radio as more than background noise to keep up to date on what’s going on and any possible Spidey sightings.
Charles, of course, follows Jake in loving Spider-Man, although that’s because he is 90% sure Jake is Spider-Man even if Jake’s told him a million times it’s not possible, Charles, that one time you did see him I was right next to you. Either way, at least once a month there’s some sort of Spider-Man snack featured in the break room with only moderately exotic ingredients.
Gina’s taken at least three selfies with the guy, and there’s a whole section of her G-hive who’s dedicated on telling her when Spideys been sighted. And when he’s nearby she most definitely takes a squad car to go to the scene, in order to get up close and personal.
Rosa is harder to read because of course she is. But every once in a while when Jake’s watching YouTube videos of the latest stunts caught on shaky phones, she’ll comment about all the other weapons Spidey should look in to. The ones that would make catching the bad guys a lot easier, even if it would be a little messier for them to clean up. And then she’ll cuff Jake on the back of the head and tell him he better not start getting any ideas, there’s already too many spandex-clad vigilantes and they didn’t need his ass getting caught out there.
Amy isn’t quite as vocally supportive. She’s got a reputation to maintain as a rule follower, you see. But she has a whole binder of the lectures she’s ready to give Spider-Man about safety and procedure, and then another whole binder on modified police training procedures and tactics that she angrily adds to when she sees him flung around by the newest bad. If he’s going to be a rule breaking vigilante then fine but he at least better be doing it right!
Terry is the most critical. He knows what it’s like to go in to a situation cocky from his rookie days. And yeah, maybe this guys got superpowers but he can still get himself or others hurt. The whole squad groans when he starts going down this road, even if it’s just to point out the negatives of street level vigilantes who haven’t been through the training they have.
(What the squad doesn’t know is that Terry’s heard Spider-Man’s voice up close, can tell just how young this kid is. And the idea of a kid going out to fight, even a kid with superpowers, makes his heart twist every time he sees the videos Jake loves)
((because he can see his daughters in this kid, knows that if they had powers they would do the same thing and he wouldn’t blame them, how could he? but god they are just so young-))
Holt has to at least pretend to be neutral. Some of the bigger politicians have made entire campaigns around their stance to stop vigilantes. He’s not, though. Cheddar looks adorable in the Spider-Man onesie he wears during that years Halloween heist.
(Holt’s also got a soft spot a mile wide for young people with sharp tongues and a desire to make the world better, so of course he keeps tabs on Spider-Man the way he does all of his family in the Nine-Nine)
Maybe once every six months there’s this big push to find Spider-Man. Some other police departments pride can’t stand the idea of a vigilante taking away from their arrest records.
The Nine-Nine handles this the way you’d expect.
They give the case to Scully and Hitchcock.
- So uh… the Davis-Morales lives in Brooklyn, yeah?
- Guess who else lives in Brooklyn?
- That’s right, the 99th Precinct. The precinct number 99, the 99th precinct. (yes Brooklyn 99)
- So imagine a fairly dull afternoon, Miles is leisurely chasing a pickpocket down an alley and webbing him up WHEN SUDDENLY, a familiar looking police officer with a leather jacket bump into him in the same alley, FANBOYING
- “Oh my God, oh my God! Are you the new Spiderman?!” “Web me !!”
- Miles: Uhhhhhhhhh
- Needless to say Miles eventually lands in the office of the 99th Precinct
- Captain Holt immediately figures out that this new Spiderman is, in fact, Jefferson’s son
- Miles is scared of Holt at first but he eventually warms up to Holt
- He’s a little weirded out by Jake and Charles fanboying over him but they’re nice enough
- Amy teaches him about First Aid and How to Rescue People and whatnot, he is forever grateful.
- He likes Gina because she’s got the same mischievous vibe as Uncle Aaron but Jesus Gina, stop teaching him illegal stuff (he does, however pick up on the lock picking tick with the hairpins)
- He has a mini crush on Rosa but mostly she mentors him on how to be a badass but most of her advice is useless (”Wear leather jackets everyday.” “But I –” “LEATHER JACKET!”
- Terry and Holt mentors him and teaches him about deduction and how to be safe.
- The trouble only starts when Holt accidentally mentioned to Jefferson during an office function that Miles sometimes drops by the 99th Precinct from time to time.
- Jefferson is Baffled? Miles? Interested in Policework?? This has never happened??
- Also, why didn’t Miles ever come by his precinct? Is it because he’s lame? HE’S NOT LAME DAMMIT.
- (he’s also secretly insecure that Aaron and Rio gets along with his son better, and now, Captain Holt?? What is he doing???)
- “MILES, SON, WHY DON’T YOU EVER VISIT YOUR OLD MAN’S PRECINCT?”
- Holt : I panicked. I’m sorry.
- Miles: : I trusted you, Sir.
- Anyway imagine ALL THE POSSIBILITIES

Sometimes we all need distractions, from bad habits, thoughts, our environment, anything. So it’s good to know how to distract yourself! These are all healthy distractions so you don’t have to worry!

- Read! It could be on your phone or with an actual book!
- Clean up your room or your house, I know it’s not the most fun but it’s good to keep yourself focused!
- If you have any animals, play with them! Mine always make me smile even when it’s been the worst day! Or even just cuddle with them if you don’t have the energy.
- Write! It could be in a journal or anything.
- Dance with loud music playing!
- Paint your nails a pretty color!
- Do your makeup and improve your skills
- Call a friend or family member that you could talk to and laugh with forever!
- TV! Basic but it works, same with movies!
- Do any homework or work you have
- Watch asmr videos!
- Reorganize something
- Take a well deserved nap
- Shower or bathe

- Plant flowers/garden
- Mow the lawn
- Take a walk
- Ride a bike
- Take cute pictures
- Play with your pet outside
- Go to the park
- Make a snow man if there’s snow! But stay warm!
- Make the biggest leaf pile you can if it’s autumn!
- If it’s raining go dance
- Go fishing
- Go swimming!
Literally just find something that makes you happy even if it’s something small💕
